Artist's Comments
Continuing my epic evolution as an artist, I came up with this piece. I wanted to do something where a little girl, preferably a tomboy, was exploring the outdoors for some sort of relic. At first I thought to have her crouched down at the edge of a lake, reaching in and pulling out the necklace...that way I could experiment with some water techniques, but, then I thought it'd be cooler to have her up at the top of the world, as if what she'd been looking for was left there by the last person who wore it, years and years ago. I may still go back and do the original idea, but this is good for now, even if it isn't perfect. I was listening to "Endless Possibility" on a loop while working on this as well as watching "All Dogs Go to Heaven".
